I created Your wine brand to deter folks from choosing a type of wine based on gender stereotypes. Instead of classifying rosé as a drink specifically for women or red wine as masculine I decided to create a brand that encourages any type of wine for any type of person. This wine is for everyone, no occasion, gender, or place. It's your wine.

This was a group show in May 2019 at the 106 Gallery downtown Grand Rapids. The show included Calvin students as well as students from Michigan State University.
My project was titled "How Do You Feel?" originated from a personal project in which I tracked my emotions linearly throughout the day. I then transferred these fluctuating lines to cut out pieces of plastic bags via embroidery. For this show I asked some friends of mine to also track their emotions.
I chose plastic bags because I felt they best represented the fragility of emotions as they have an incredibly soft and constant movement. I chose white embroidery because emotions are not always able to be seen; at some angles of the piece you have to look close to see the white on white distinction. Instead of calling it a wall of emotions, I consider it as more of a blanket of emotions. Ever fluctuating and always present.
